“Visiting Florence was like attending a surprise party every day.”- Unknown

It took me 42 years to get to Italy for the first time. Not sure why it took me so long but so glad I finally made it! This post can serve as your travel guide for finding our favorites in Florence, part I, and Venice, part II.

Florence

Part I

Our trip started with a few days in Florence. Florence is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world with it’s overflowing palaces, churches, museums and craftsman on every corner. I was immediately in love. Keep scrolling to read comprised list of my favorite things in Florence.

Venice

Part II

My cousin, Tommie Rush, is married to world renowned glass blower Richard Jolley. Tommie and Richard live in Knoxville, Tennessee but frequently spend time in Venice and Murano. In May 2019 Tommie and Richard invited a small group to spend a few days with them in the area to celebrate Richard’s gallery show at the Berengo Studio in Murano. It was so lovely to share it with so many locals and well traveled American friends.
